Bio
Paul McKee represents Ireland and Northern Ireland in the most challenging sprint event – the 400 metres. At 22 years old he qualified for and competed in the millennium Sydney Olympics. In 2002 he twice shattered the Irish 400 metre record, competed in the Manchester Commonwealth Games and the European Championships, where he narrowly missed a place in the final. He finished the outdoor season ranked seventh in Europe.
In 2003 Paul made his mark on the world stage by winning the bronze medal in the World Indoor Championships. In doing so he became the first Irish athlete in over 70 years to win a medal in any sprint event on the senior world stage.
